Sacramento - Peggy is a survivor. You would never know by looking at this sweet and loving 7 year old chihuahua that she survived a SHOOT OUT WITH POLICE and the subsequent FIRE! But skinny Peggy shocked me. She was hard for animal control to catch and she didn't hav e the best behavior in the shelter, but I knew we couldn't leave her behind. I was SHOCKED by how great she actually is! After I got her home, and opened her crate, she ran around for a few minutes then decided I was her friend. Like that! I would have expected from where she came from to be timid, but she was great. Her foster has a baby and a tween and I was concerned with how she would do, and she has done great! I was also worried that if I separated her from the other dogs in the house there might be be problems but again, she has flourished. So, I know, not many people are wanting to adopt a 7 year old, 8 lb chihuahua, but this girl deserves a chance. To survive such a horrific event and be this amazing shows the resiliency of dogs.
