Sacramento- Elvy is such a beautiful girl! She came to us several months ago after having babies in a shelter. Her babies are all about adopted, she has needed some work and now she is ready to be adopted too. Elvy is a husky, and I mean she fits it to a T! She is beautiful, with piercing eyes and she loves to snuggle so much. She loves to chase squirrels and has a she and can jump 6 foot fences (again, she is a husky) and she will test your fence for a place to get through and go for a job, so she needs to be supervised or have a back up. She likes to jump, including up on people to say hello, and she likes people! But perhaps a home without small children to knock over is ideal. She lives with a dog savvy 6 year old currently. She is currently living and existing with cats, but one wrong move and that can be dangerous for them, so we suggest a home without cats or small creatures (I lost my ferret to a malamute once... I wish I knew now what I knew then). She has been being fostered by Anny from Paws In Progress so she has her basic commands down (sit, down, off, loose leash, recall). Many huskies cannot be crated, but she has been worked with and she is great in her crate for 8 hours but she has higher chewer needs (Nyla bones and what not) while in crate and out. She is also a super cuddle bug too!

Elvy has lived with many other dogs, and probably best with medium to large dogs. She can is good but can be flippant or pushy with other dogs and may need correction on "domination" body language. Like most huskies she is medium energy with structure/rules or high energy if not worked (ie this is not a dog for a lazy person). Any adopter must have experience with the breed or another high drive breed that's alike. Her drive is so that even if she hasn't potty in 8 hours will stand and stare at the trees to look for a squirrel to stock.
Elvy is decent in the car but if window is down she will attempt to push half her body out of the window to get the best kind of air, but luckily she is house trained and super easy to bathe. She is a teenager and needs training tools to prevent pulling and attitude behavior (and she will test your consistency). She is only about 2 years old and 50 pounds,

Anny will do two free private lessons for new adopter. She is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, heartworm tested negative and blood work looks great.
